After visiting Cromarty and being entranced with such a gorgeous locale and the history - and yes even Hugh Miller .. you have created such a gorgeous animation for this Folktale ! Thanks for sharing !
Hi Rachel ! Two years ago I did a self led residency with the Cromarty Art Trust - and worked in the Stables studio there. Cromarty really won my heart - and I have been back twice since then :-) there is something really special about this town ( and itās residents) currently we live in Canada but my daughter is now in England and my husband has British residency - so potentially we could move there š¤I have a few pieces at Gallery 48 there which makes me feel still connected ! I would love to meet you in person one day - truly enjoy your art and process
Ooh this is such a generous insight Rachel! I loved your Folktale Week so much and itās a treat to read about it in more depth here - off to investigate your app suggestions - I used Animade for the basics on mine - free on IOS !
Thanks Sam! Ooh I don't know animade, will look it up. Stop motion studio is free with some limitations, and the full version is only around£6. It's great!
Hi Rachel. This was a massive project! I love your Folktale Week 2024 animation series and deeply appreciate the amount of work you put into it all! It was fun to see how you approached this and the tools you used. Iām a Stop Motion App fan too and you have inspired me to try some new creations. Happy creating!
Thanks so much Coco! Yes it was quite a big project, but of a challenge to fit it in around everything else going on!! But I really enjoyed making it. Good luck with your next project!
The sequences are so lovely Rachel, I love the loneliness shots on your special tracing paper. Iām also a paper saver!
Thanks so much lizzy! I'd like to do more with that wee sequence. Need to track down some more of the magic paper, it's all gone!! š„
