This time make it a bowling ball and an empty cardboard box
(but it's really just wee bits of paper!)
I have been TOTALLY absorbed for the last hour just moving a circle and square of paper around - I highly recommend it! It’s so great when you get lost in an animation world like this.
I’m prepping for the next Animation Pie session, where we'll be looking at TIMING and EASING, two of the ‘12 Principles of Animation’. We’ll do some animation with simple shapes, a bit like my sequence here (where I imagined the circle and ball to be made of different materials and wondered how they’d react or behave). We’ll also look at how this approach can be applied to your animated characters/objects to make them more natural, believable and characterful.
What will you need for this session? You’ll need:
a phone or tablet with Stop Motion Studio app installed
a box or gooseneck stand to hold your device
black and white paper (or 2 contrasting colours) cut into…
a square and circle, around 3-4 cm diameter
an hour and a bit (I’ll keep time with my new fancy timer I bought at the local charity shop - bargain of the month!!)
The session will be on Wed 28th May at 7pm UK time, for paid subs. I do them monthly on the last Wed of the month, but if you can’t make the live, it’s all recorded so don’t stress! Here is the zoom link:
